Organic Chemistry & Interfaces (COrInt) team Abstract This manuscript describes the synthesis of various compounds. First, building on the team’s previous research, cyclopropanes were synthesized in basic conditions by the addition of secondary amines to chlorinated derivatives, while pyrrolidines were obtained by the addition of primary amines to acetylated derivatives. Next, we developed a new series of 2,N-disubstituted acetamides from two halogenothioxanthones using a palladium-catalyzed coupling reaction. Furthermore, subsequent cyclization in basic conditions paved the way for novel pentacyclic derivatives derived from thiochromeno \[4,3,2-de\]quinol-2-ones. Their N-butylacridone analogs were next obtained by following a similar approach from halogenoacridones. We also investigated synthetic routes to new polycyclic derivatives based on this acridone motif, and in particular heterocycles containing the 2-aminopyrimidine moiety, hexacyclic analogs of ceramidonine, and new boracycles of the N,O-BF₂ and O,O-BF₂ types. Finally, we evaluated the biological, photophysical and electrochemical properties of selected thioxanthone and acridone derivatives to establish structure-property relationships.
